The challenge

As part of a college marketing project for Health Canada, the challenge was to develop an awareness campaign targeting teenagers to educate them about the detrimental effects of vaping. With the rising popularity of e-cigarettes among youth, there was an urgent need to combat misinformation and raise awareness about the potential health risks associated with vaping. The campaign aimed to address the alarming increase in vaping among teenagers and empower them to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being. Additionally, the challenge involved navigating the complexities of reaching and engaging with this demographic, who are often bombarded with conflicting messages and peer pressure.

Solution

The solution involved creating a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate teenagers about the harmful effects of vaping. This included developing three impactful print ads with the tagline "Don't Vape Your Dreams Away" and a sub-tagline urging teens to "Make the right decision before it's too late." Each ad depicted a teenager surrounded by smoke, emphasizing the dangers of vaping, with a call to action directing viewers to the Health Canada website for more information. Additionally, a compelling video was produced to reinforce the message further. By leveraging print and digital media, the campaign aimed to raise awareness and empower teenagers to make informed decisions about their health.
